Elective Programs
Electives Programs (EP)
The electives program offers a variety of classes to enhance the Core Skills. These may be taken as stand-alone classes or as part of the GP1 or GPP (depending on whether you want group or individual instruction.)
The Electives classes are held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Monday to Friday. Electives options are:
a) KEEP TALKING (This program is for students wishing to concentrate on even more conversation)
Using inlingua production activities and materials, students will improve even more their speaking skills. Through dialogues, discussions, role-plays, debating, drama, presentations, students will have many opportunities to practice the key points learned during the morning lessons. (Level 2A-3B)
b) SAY IT RIGHT (Grammar)
By using the exclusive inlingua grammar book "Say it Right", students learn through exercises and explanations the correct use of English grammar in order to speak English correctly. (Levels 1B -3A)
c) SITUATIONAL ENGLISH/VOCABULARY PLUS
Students will learn the vocabulary and expressions necessary for different places and situations and by focusing on one theme at a time (airport, hospital. home-stay, restaurant, bank, etc.) (Level 1A -2B)
d) LISTENING SKILLS
Students will listen to radio broadcasts, watch TV comedies, programs and interviews to improve their knowledge of slang, idioms, phrasal verbs and play on words. (Level 3A and up)
e) JOB SKILLS PROGRAM
This is for students who would like to work in an English - speaking environment. Learn how to write resumes, fill out forms, make appointments, prepare for job interviews and practice telephone communication. Students can get in-house training and even gain experience by volunteering with local businesses. (Level 2A and up)
f) BUSINESS ENGLISH
Using the exclusive inlingua modules, students will cover the language skills needed to make presentations, carry on negotiations, deal with business correspondence, conduct business meetings, speak English over the telephone and communicate across borders. (Level 3 and up)
g) EBU (English Brush Up)
This program is specially designed to meet the needs of students whose English is "rusty" - a common problem for those who learned the language some time ago, but who have had little time to practice. The course provides succinct review of essential language from levels 1A, 1B and 2A of inlingua's general and professional programs, preparing students for entry into APP 2B or GPP 2B.
